Online womenswear retailer Sosandar has toasted encouraging festive trading, helped by “very strong” sales of partywear before Christmas.

The AIM-listed firm added that trading into early January has also been strong, with an increase in demand for active and casual clothing since December 25.

Total revenue in the three months to December 31 was £8.9 million, up from £4 million and representing a record quarter.

The retailer, which also sells products through chains such as John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, said it continues to trade in line with recently upgraded market expectations for the current financial year.

It added that all product categories have grown year-on-year and overall returns rates are lower than pre-pandemic levels.

Ali Hall and Julie Lavington, co-chief executives, said: “We remain vigilant to the external challenges, however, we have not experienced any material disruption at this time and believe our approach continues to position us well going forward.”

Numerous retailers have been impacted by supply chain disruption.
