'Sort your lives out' - Ian Holloway calls on Bristol City fans to back Lee Johnson but condemns celebration

Ian Holloway has called on Bristol City fans to get behind Lee Johnson.

There were murmurings of discontent after the Robins went on a four-game losing streak, but they got back to winning ways yesterday thanks to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Luton Town.

Speaking on Quest's EFL highlights show, Holloway picked out winger Niclas Eliasson as his star performer for the Robins, and then had something to say about those who had questioned Johnson's position.

"He's a game changer, isn't he?" Holloway said of Eliasson.

"It's great to see him actually starting, he did it all afternoon.

"It's the quality at the end of it, I'm delighted for him.

"You just need to stay calm at this stage of the season, they'd lost four in a row, they've got a really good team.

"Don't start shouting about the manager, sort your lives out.

"You've got a real good team there."

He added: "I don't think the top two are going to run away with it.

"I actually believe if you can stay calm, stay behind your team... you'll have little runs where you go in and out of form because the competition is so tough, but stick with it."

Holloway was left unimpressed by Famara Diedhiou's elaborate goal celebration, which saw the City striker get a party hat and confetti from the bench - only for them to both fail.

The celebration was to mark the striker's son's birthday but, echoing Lee Johnson's comments post-match, Holloway said Diedhiou should have been focusing on the game.

He said: "All joking apart, they've just lost four in a row - why are you showboating?

"Sort your life out, get back out there and get us the win.

"I don't like that.

"It's funny because it didn't work but I'm more worried about letting him do it."
