Sorry, there's not really a 100mph zipline opening on top of the Severn Bridge

It's time to come clean.

Earlier today, we reported how an epic new zipline linking Wales to England was opening on top of the M48 Severn Bridge next year.

But, it was actually an April fool!

We described how the IOCUS zipline would allow thrill-seekers to soar from Cheptow to Gloucestershire over the River Severn at speeds of up to 100mph.

We even went to the effort of creating some realistic-looking artist impressions of how the experience would look:

But, we left you some subtle clues in the story, like the name of the zipline itself - IOCUS, which actually means joke in latin.

Here are a couple of other clues we left you:

  • It's being launched by by adventure operator Faril-Polo - which is an anagram of April Fool
  • The founder of Faril-Polo is called Mr Kafe Linzipe - which is also an anagram, this time of fake zipline
  • It's opening on April 1, 2020 - which, you guessed it, is April Fool's Day next year

How many clues did you manage to spot?
