Sorry Siri! Brits would prefer THESE celebrities' voices as smart assistants

From Siri to Alexa , smart assistants are now a daily feature of many people’s lives.

But while most smart assistants feature fairly neutral voices, it seems that Brits would prefer to hear more well-known voices.

A new survey by Ebuyer has revealed the top ten celebrities that the UK would like to be the new voice of smart devices.

The survey of 2,000 Brits revealed that Morgan Freeman’s voice is the top option we’d like to hear on our smart assistants, alongside Joanna Lumley , David Attenborough , and Stephen Fry.

Ebuyer also asked participants which accents they’d like to hear on their smart assistants.

The Scottish and Home Counties were the top choices, both receiving 13% of the poll. These were followed by Yorkshire, (11%) Geordie (10%) and Welsh (7%).

Andy Roberts, Ecommerce Director at Ebuyer said: “With one of the most recognisable voices in Hollywood, it is no surprise that Morgan Freeman topped our poll, but it was interesting to see which other celebrities made the list, and how celebrities with regional accents fared.

Amazon's Alexa reviewers have access to customers' ADDRESSES, report claims

“Our research found that over one in ten (11%) voted for Yorkshire as their chosen regional accent for their voice assistant, yet well-known Yorkshire celebrity Sean Bean received just 3% of the vote.

“The capabilities of voice assistants now mean that many can be updated to have different voices and accents - meaning you no longer need to be stuck with the autonomous voice of Siri or Alexa!”
