Sorry Ohio State and Big Ten fans, the SEC has released its fall 2020 football schedule

In no way, shape, or form is this an intention to rub anything in, but we thought everyone should be aware that the big, bad, SEC released its fall 2020 football schedule 2020 Monday — and yeah — it stings a little. Okay, a lot!

The Big Ten may have gotten out in front of the rest of the conferences by — what now appears to be — a moot and way premature speculative exercise of releasing a ten-game conference schedule. It doesn’t matter anymore because six days later the entire thing was pulled back and canceled — er, postponed.

And while everyone railed on the SEC for poor planning, the schedule is now out and things are moving forward with the intention of playing games before the calendar flips to 2021.

Here’s a tweet that takes a look at what it all looks like.

What’s interesting about the SEC’s schedule however is that it is very optimistic. It starts later than what the Big Ten’s did yes, but there is only one open date on each team’s calendar. In addition to that, some noteworthy rivalries are still on the back-end of the schedule.

Tennesse vs. Florida, Alabama vs. Auburn, and Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State are on the docket for the last two weeks. That means if things go (pardon the pun) south, those games stand a good chance of hitting the chopping block.

Then again, at least there’s a schedule that’s still going to happen at this point. I’m going to go back and crawl in a hole now.
