Sophie Kasaei branded 'clueless' for plugging holidays as UK reached 100k death milestone

Sophie Kasaei has been branded 'clueless' by her social media followers after she plugged party holidays on her social media while the pandemic raged on.

The 31-year-old Geordie Shore star took to social media on Tuesday to promote several party holiday packages for 2021 to getaways like Magaluf and Ibiza.

Her post came on the same day that the UK recorded it had passed the grim milestone of 100,000 Covid-19 deaths.

In the snap, that Sophie shared with her 2.1 million Instagram followers, Sophie slipped into a branded t-shirt and shorts and held a folding fan in her hand.

In the lengthy caption she encouraged followers to 'party with us' in a lavish selection of holiday destinations this year.

Naturally, some followers picked up on the poor timing and slammed the star for being 'clueless' in the face of the pandemic.

"Posting this on the day we reached 100k deaths," wrote one follower in the comment section.

A second added: "Exactly Clueless. They're blind to it while living it up in Dubai though whoops sorry I mean (working).

Another wrote: "have you forgot the rules don’t apply to them as it’s WORK."

The packaged holidays on the website are being advertised from June 2021 and will set fans back hundreds of pounds.

The selling point being the opportunity to 'party with the Geordie Shore cast this summer'.

Sophie's post came as the UK marked a grim milestone of 100,000 Covid-19 deaths in the run up to one year since the virus was first reported in the country.

Yesterday, Boris Johnson also revealed to the Commons that UK travellers may be questioned about having valid reasons to leave the country - holidays not being one of them.

Some of the package holidays also might be thrown into disarray after the Spanish Prime Minister implied that holidaymakers could be banned from visiting the country until the majority of vaccinations are completed - by at least September.

In the meantime, a host of social media influencers, including Sophie, continue to share sun-filled pictures from lavish destinations after they left the country for "work" purposes.

A representative for Sophie has been approached by The Mirror for comment.
