A 12-year-old girl who went missing after leaving school in Tranent has been found.
Sophia Gourlay left Ross High School in the East Lothian town at around 11.30am on Wednesday, 4 December and failed to return home.
Police on Friday issued a public appeal for information in a bid to trace her, with fears growing for her welfare. They said that she was known to frequent the Tranent, Musselburgh and Haddington areas.
Officers confirmed on Friday afternoon that she has now been found safe and well. They were keen to thank all who shared their appeal for information.
