He might be a star of few word words - well, no words - himself but children's favourite Sooty no doubt will have young fans squealing in excitement when he makes a special trip to the North East this Spring.
And he will be joined on his double-date here by pal Sweep - and Soo too - in two April shows in South Shields and Middlesbrough.
The glove puppet star of TV and stage is on tour in Sooty's Magic Show which will be bringing him to The Customs House for two performances, at 11am and 2.30pm, on April 7 followed by Middlesbrough Theatre at the same times on April 13.
Fans can enjoy some magic tricks and practical jokes as the famous black-eared yellow bear, who is mute to the audience, communicates by whispering in the ear of his handler Richard Cadell.
And they will even have an opportunity to meet the pair after the show.
Having reached his 70th birthday last year, Sooty is clearly by now a master of the art of entertainment and audiences can expect to see his flying car during the show which will also feature Soo’s singing unicorn and Sweep’s levitating sausage.
Special guests will be circus star Michael Jordan and Fantasie de la Nuit.
Following Sooty's birthday year celebrations, which included a meeting with Prince Charles as well as a stint in pantomime, he is apparently eager for action in the North East.
