Soon-to-be free agent WR Randall Cobb has connections to Cardinals coaches

The Arizona Cardinals are expected to attempt and upgrade their group of wide receivers in the offseason. Free agency hits in March and receiver Randall Cobb will be one of the biggest names on the market at the position.

Cobb has connections to the Cardinals coaching staff.

Arizona’s head offensive assistant is Tom Clements and wide receivers coach is David Raih.

Raih was Cobb’s position coach last season.

Clements was on Green Bay’s offensive staff from 2006-2016, including stints as offensive coordinator from 2012-2014 and as assistant head coach/offense 2015-2016.

Cobb’s three most productive seasons came during that time.

In 2012, Cobb caught 80 passes for 954 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2014, Cobb was a Pro Bowler, catching 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In 2015, he had 79 for 829 yards and six scores.

The 28-year-old Cobb is projected to get a two-year contract worth nearly $16 million, per Spotrac.

He is coming off a season in which he missed seven games, but new coaching staffs tend to attract players they are familiar with so he could be a name to watch once free agency and the legal tampering period begin.
