Sony Michel, David Andrews return to practice for day 3 of Patriots’ training camp

New England Patriots running back Sony Michel returned to practice on Saturday for day three of training camp practice on the field behind Gillette Stadium. Michel missed the first two practices of camp after reportedly ungoing a minor knee procedure this offseason. Along with Michel, center David Andrews returned to the field. Tom Brady was also participating after taking Friday as a rest day.

Michel started training camp on the physically unable to perform list. His presence on the practice field means that he’s off the PUP list. Knee issues held Michel out for the majority of 2018 training camp. His return for 2019 training camp is a reassuring sign for his development.

Michel finished his rookie season with 209 rushes for 931 yards and six touchdowns. The running back also scored the only touchdown in Super Bowl LIII.

Andrews’ injury wasn’t disclosed, but Caserio said Saturday morning that the center is day-to-day.
