Sony and Honda’s joint EV project, Afeela, is leaning hard into gaming as a key part of its identity. One of the key features of this EV is the support for PS5 remote play. Passengers can stream and play PlayStation 5 games directly in the car’s infotainment system. It goes to show that Afeela isn’t just being pitched as a car but as a moving entertainment hub.
There isn’t going to be a PlayStation 5 in the vehicle. Instead, it’s going to use PS5’s Remote Play technology to stream the gameplay from the console over the internet. This means that the user’s console must be powered on and connected to the internet.
After that, it will work pretty much like a console; you can browse through your library and play any games you want. Maybe a quick EA FC round, or a lap in your favorite racing game. Of course, you will need to take the controllers with you to be able to play.
How PS5 Gaming Fits Into Afeela’s Vision

Afeela EV is aiming to offer the best infotainment system. The entire dashboard is a continuous screen stretching across the cabin, making it ideal for media consumption. And, of course, with Sony behind this car, gaming was also going to be a part of it. That’s achieved by installing PS5 Remote Play in the car.
Charging stops, traffic, or waiting in your car will be the perfect time to sneak in a short gaming session. Of course, while driving, gaming will be limited to passengers only because of safety concerns, but if you are parked or waiting for the car to charge, it might be the best time to enjoy some games.
It’s not a new technology, so we know that it will work fine. PS5 Remote Play already works on phones, tablets, and other screens, so hosting it over the car’s infotainment system will not be a problem.
This move fits with Afeela’s tech-forward identity and approach to cars. The EV is heavily pushing towards being a smart device rather than a traditional vehicle. Gaming, movies, music, and navigation all in one place.
While pricing for Afeela is still premium-leaning, features like PS5 Remote Play show exactly who the car is targeting: tech-savvy users who already live inside Sony’s ecosystem. But we do know that they are aiming to start deliveries mid-2026.
