CHANDIGARH: Taking a dig at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for announcing free and quality treatment on the formation of the AAP government in Punjab, deputy chief minister O P Soni said Kejriwal government in the national capital has failed to deliver.
Soni stated that before making promise of providing best health facilities to the people of Punjab, the Delhi CM should ensure that the people of Delhi get proper health services. “Delhi residents seeking treatment in government and private hospitals in every district of Punjab during the second wave of Covid makes it evident that Arvind Kejriwal has failed to provide required health services to people of Delhi,” he said.
After taking over the charge of health ministry, Soni on Thursday directed officers of the health department to ensure quality healthcare services to the people of Punjab. He asked them to prepare a 100-day roadmap, which he would monitor.
Giving further directions, he said that in view of the coming festival season all arrangements for tackling the possible third wave of Covid should be made. He directed officials to ramp up the health infrastructure and to carry out required procurement as per the expected caseload. He said there should be no shortage of medicines in the government health facilities and asked officials to expedite the pace of Covid vaccination and testing.
Soni also instructed to take all necessary measures to check the spread of dengue.
