Songwriter Diane Warren corrects Twitter users who have confused her for Ghislaine Maxwell

Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren has corrected a number of Twitter users who have confused her for Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

Warren, who has written classic songs including Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” and LeAnn Rimes’s “How Do I Live?”, went viral yesterday (14 July) due to her uncanny resemblance to the socialite.

A Twitter user shared a clip in which Mariah Carey appears to toss Warren out of the way at a red carpet event, but incorrectly wrote that it was Maxwell in the footage. “The way she threw Ghislaine,” the tweet read.

“U guys, this is Diane Warren,” corrected a second user.

Unusually, Warren at first repeatedly claimed the woman posing with Carey wasn’t her, writing “Umm no it’s not.” That was despite her followers showing Warren the selfie she took with Carey on the red carpet, which Warren herself tweeted in October 2019.

Eventually Warren appeared to recognise herself, tweeting: “Actually it is!”

Hours later, Warren corrected another viral tweet, which claimed that Maxwell “knew everybody”, using photographs of the socialite posing with Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Naomi Campbell and Lady Gaga.

Unfortunately, the picture of “Maxwell” and Gaga was in fact a picture of Gaga posing with Warren, who co-wrote her tracks “Til It Happens to You” and “Why Did You Do That?”

“Ummm the one on the bottom left isn’t Ghislaine tho!!” Warren tweeted.

Maxwell was yesterday (14 July) denied bail by a Manhattan court and ordered to remain in prison until her trial in July 2021.

The 58-year-old pleaded not guilty to charges of facilitating abuse of minors by Epstein.
