Songs For The National Health Service: Foals, Wolf Alice and more to release album of in aid of NHS

Foals, Wolf Alice and the Vaccines are among the bands to feature on an album of never-before-heard music in aid of the NHS.

The compilation release, Songs For The National Health Service, will feature a mix of covers, remixes, live tracks and demos.

The album — which will also include The Wombats, The Big Moon, Swim Deep and Nilüfer Yanya — will raise funds for the Hoods For Heroes campaign, which is helping to provide respiratory PPE for frontline staff treating Covid-19 patients.

In a statement, the artists involved said: “We don’t believe the NHS should be treated like a charity, but it’s difficult to watch as frontline medical professionals put their lives at risk during this crisis, especially due to a lack of the right equipment.

“With that in mind, all proceeds of this record will be used to directly fund the purchase and distribution of reusable PPE Respirators to protect key workers during Covid-19 and beyond.”

A release date for the album is yet to be confirmed, although it is now available to pre-order here.
