Son struggling with heartbreaking loss 'took his own life' weeks after dad died

A family suffered a heartbreaking double tragedy after a son is believed to have taken his own life, three months after the death of his father.

Paul Kennedy, 61, tragically died on New Year's Day following a cardiac arrhythmia - a condition that causes the heart to beat irregularly.

His distraught son, Jamie Adamson passed away on Monday, aged just 32-years-old.

Jamie had lived with his father in Grimsby, but was unable to keep the tenancy after his dad's death and found himself homeless.

He eventually moved to Lincoln to be close to his brother, Danny, his partner Leanna Holmes, and their children, reports Lincolnshire Live.

Leanne said “Jamie moved to Lincoln after his and my partner’s dad passed away in January.

“He took it hard. He found himself homeless and he was on a downward spiral.

"We got him set up in Lincoln with a job and a house and sorted himself out with a nice little life.

“It’s just been a really difficult time for us as a family - it affected both brothers.

“I don’t feel like we got out of the hole we were in with the loss of their dad and then now Danny has lost his brother too.

“We were not over their dad’s death before this has happened and financially it’s really hard-hitting.

Between the two tragedies, Danny and Leanne welcomed a baby boy, Kassidy on February 15.

Leanne added: “Jamie and Paul were besotted with our kids.

“Paul never got to meet our new addition – it’s such a shame.”

Jamie's good friend Kyne has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the financial costs of a second funeral in the space of a few months.
