Son pleads guilty to manslaughter of Gold Coast woman Linda Sidon

Linda Frances Sidon was last seen at a medical appointment in June 2009.

The son of missing Gold Coast woman Linda Sidon has pleaded guilty to her manslaughter in a Brisbane court.

Daniel Heazlewood appeared in the Supreme Court this morning where he also pleaded guilty to interfering with a corpse.

He was arrested in Brisbane in October 2015, when he was aged 28.

Ms Sidon, 46, who was originally from New Zealand, disappeared in June 2009.

She was not reported missing for another 18 months when her New Zealand-based father raised the alarm.

Police initially suspected Ms Sidon had taken her own life because she suffered from several medical conditions including depression, anxiety and anorexia.

Heazlewood will be remanded in custody until he is sentenced next week.
