Son of Yorkshire Ripper victim calls for probe into killer's plots of land in Scotland

The son of a Yorkshire Ripper victim has called for a probe into the killer’s finances – including the riddle of two plots of land in Scotland.

Neil Jackson wants any estate shared between the families of Peter Sutcliffe’s victims.

He hit out at the late serial killer’s ex-wife Sonia for refusing to comment on revelations about the estate.

Mystery surrounds the contents of Sutcliffe’s will, amid claims he owns two plots of land in Scotland.

He boasted that one of the Kray twins offered to buy the land, gifted to him by a female admirer.

Neil’s mum, Emily, was Sutcliffe’s second victim. She was 42 when she was hit with a hammer and stabbed 52 times in Leeds in 1976.

Grandad Neil, 62, said: “It’s been very hard. I was 17 when he killed my mum.

“I’d hate to think he had left money and the victims were not compensated.

“They need to look into his estate. I never got a penny after my mum was murdered.

“It should go to the victims’ families.

“Anything that he has should go to families. Somebody high up should be looking into it and get compensation for us.

“His money should not be going to anyone connected to him.”

Sonia, 70, was named as next-of-kin for her ex and she still lives in their marital home in Bradford, despite remarrying.

When asked if there were plots of land in Scotland, she said “no comment”.

The families believe his estate should be shared between them.

Sonia, pictured this week on a shopping trip, has not responded to their plea.

Neil added: “I’m glad she can enjoy the shops – many of his victims have spent a lifetime struggling for money.”
