Son of legendary former Eagles WR Vince Papale to get tryout with the team

Philadelphia is the town of blue-collar workers and the rags to riches story or Rocky Balboa, or even a Vince Papale.

During the 1976 season, a 30-year-old with no NFL experience, coming over from the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League earned a spot on Dick Vermeil’s Eagles roster. That story turned into a Hollywood movie centered around Vince Papale.

Now decades later, Papale’s son is preparing for his own tryout with the Eagles.

Vinny Papale played wide receiver at the University of Delaware, and after a solid Senior season, Papale will get his shot at greatness, as the Eagles have invited him to their local Pro Day on April 17, according to our own Andrew DiCecco.

The league allows all 32 teams to host their own local pro day for area talent to get the chance to work out in front of different NFL brass. Legacy could allow for the talented wideout to catch on somewhere.
