Son of former Nottingham Forest star linked with Premier League move after hitting 17 goals in nine games

The son of former Nottingham Forest star Alf-Inge Haaland could be set for a move to the Premier League after netting a Champions League hat-trick on Tuesday night.

Erling Braut Haaland became the first player since Wayne Rooney to hit a treble in his debut in the competition, when he scored three times for RB Salzburg in a 6-2 win against Genk.

The 19-year-old has now scored 17 goals this season, with football.london reporting that Arsenal are keen to sign him at the end of the current campaign after he gains further experience in Europe.

However, it is likely a string of top European clubs will be keen on the player with Manchester United, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund reportedly wanting him in the past

Back in May, Haaland broke an Under-20 World Cup record after scoring nine goals as Norway cruised to a 12-0 win over Honduras. Those goals come on top of his 17 in nine games for his club.

Haaland senior played for Forest between 1993 and 1997 before joining Leeds United.
