The son of a former Liverpool striker has signed a scholarship deal at Manchester City.
Jaden Heskey, son of ex-Reds striker Emile, has joined the Premier League club on a scholarship deal. The deal will run for the forthcoming 2022/23 season, and will see him join Man City’s Under-18 squad.
Like his father, Heskey is a striker who is also capable of playing in the No.10 role, and has been with City’s academy for a number of years. The 16-year-old has been rewarded for his progress and potential with a scholarship that commits his future to the club.

Under the current regime in City's academy, first-year scholars start off in the Under-18 Premier League and then are moved up to the Under-21s as and when they are required or ready to make the step up.
Former Liverpool striker Heskey spent four years at Liverpool from 2000-04, having arrived at the club from Leicester City just after the turn of the millennium. He went on to score 60 goals in 223 appearances, winning five major trophies along the way.
As well as Heskey, Man City have also handed a scholarship to the son of former Manchester United goalkeeper Lee Grant. His son, True Grant, will join Heskey in the Under-18 squad at Man City.
