A man who died of injuries suffered in a weekend beating has been identified as the son of a former Chicago Fire Department chief who acts on the television show “Chicago Fire.”

The Cook County medical examiner’s office says David Chikerotis was taken unresponsive to a hospital on Saturday and died Monday.

The victim is the son of retired Chicago Fire Chief Steve Chikerotis, who serves as a technical adviser on “Chicago Fire” and occasionally appears as the character “Steve Walker.”

Three people, whom police said knew the 31-year-old David Chikerotis, have been charged in the alleged attack, which occurred in an Evergreen Park home.

Jonathon Owens, 30, and Stacy Krisik, 33, both of Evergreen Park, and Jessica Doherty, 26, of Chicago are charged with felony aggravated battery and are being held without bond. It isn’t known if they have lawyers.

Cook County prosecutors did not immediately respond when asked if the charges will be upgraded.
