Son of DJ Bobby Ryan describes horrifying moment family were shown pictures of murdered dad's body

The son of Bobby Ryan has described the horrifying moment his family were shown pictures of the murdered DJ's body lying in the tank where he was found.

Farmer Patrick Quirke was found guilty earlier this month of murdering the part-time DJ known as Mr Moonlight in a trial that grabbed the nation.

Quirke, 50, was caged for life for killing Ryan before dumping his body in a tank.

And Mr Ryan’s children Michelle and Robert Jr were on the Late Late Show this evening to discuss the case.

Robert Jr described the moment in court when the family were shown images of their murdered dad's body in the tank where he was found.

He told Ryan Tubridy: "We were just looking at a picture of a tractor, then another picture came up of the slabbing coming back, and the next thing unfortunately there was a picture of daddy laying in the tank.

"It took us a second to realise. One second we're looking at a picture of a tractor and next thing there's daddy's body in the tank.

"Michelle got up past me and Mammy left, and then another picture flashed up on the screen, a close-up.

"I froze to the seat, I couldn't get up, I couldn't feel, I couldn't breathe. It was the worst pain I think I've ever felt, that was my dad lying there in that condition.

"It's something I still cant grasp, it keeps me awake at night. That picture flashes up every time I close my eyes.

"Thinking from when he went missing to when he was found he was in that tank, it's horrendous every night when I'm trying to go to sleep."
