Son of Celtic hero Jonathan Gould given Scottish Premiership shot by Hamilton Accies

Goalkeeper Matthew Gould has been handed the chance to earn a deal at Hamilton Accies by boss Brian Rice.

The son of former Celtic and Scotland star Jonathan Gould is on trial at New Douglas Park in a bid to win a contract.

With last seasons first-choice Luke Southwood on returning to parent club the number one spot at the Lanarkshire side is up for grabs.

Owain Fon Williams has been linked with a switch to Dunfermline, leaving Ryan Fulton, Kyle Gourlay and youngster Jamie Smith.

Gould spent last season in the English non-league with Spennymoor Town.

The 26-year-old has also spent time at Livingston in 2015, but was shipped out on loan to Stenhousemuir.
