'May the Foyth be with you Son': Two Tottenham players see red in minutes

Son Heung-min and Juan Foyth damaged Spurs' Champions League hopes after seeing red against Bournemouth .

South Korean striker Son had only just returned to the Tottenham line up after missing out in the Champions League due to suspension.

But just 44 minutes into the South Coast match he reacted after a challenge and pushed Jefferson Irma - right in front of the referee.

And it got even worse for Spurs a minute after the break when substitute Foyth went in high on Jack Simpson to leave the Londoners with NINE men.

He'd been on the pitch for just 120 seconds.

Nathan Ake then headed home a corner with minutes to go to leave them 1-0 behind.

In an embarrassing afternoon for Spurs Son even dived to the floor when he realised he was about to see red from referee Craig Pawson.

Pundit Alan Smith said: "It's so unlike him. Lerma got his goat. Craig Pawson right on top of it.

"Inexplicable really from Heung-Min Son."

And Gary Lineker was quick to quip: "May the Foyth be with you in the dressing room Son."

Fans reacted straight away with Keiran saying: "Not a red in a million years, but Son is a monumental idiot for reacting like that in a game as big as this."

It's Son's first red card in Spurs colours - and the second his career. He first was for Bayer Leverkusen and like this one it was a straight red.

Fans, of course, were quick to react...

But even though fans reacted, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino didn't even acknowledge him as he trudged down the tunnel.

Spurs need to win at the Vitality to keep pace with the top four challengers.

They face Ajax in the Champions League semi final this Wednesday night.
