Tottenham striker Son Heung-min has made a significant change to his management team, and it could be a big boost for Spurs.
Son has made the decision to change agents amid talk of a new Tottenham contract following his excellent start to the season.
According to the Associated Press, Son has signed up to be represented by Hollywood talent group CAA, or specifically the sports division named CAA Base.
The move comes amid talks Son is about to pen a new long-term contract with Tottenham, and interestingly, Jose Mourinho 's commercial deals are also looked after by CAA Base.
That shared interest could point towards Son signing a new deal with Mourinho recently admitting talks are ongoing.
“I would love [him to sign a new contract],” Mourinho recently said. “Son has three years of contract, so it’s not like we’re in an extreme situation of everybody being worried. It’s more that Son loves it here, I believe that he would like to commit his future to the club for a long time.
“Everybody at the club is totally in love with this player and this boy and is trying also to make him feel part of the furniture. It’s normal the club tries to go from three years to four or five or six, I don’t know. It’s normal.
“But it’s a very calm situation because Sonny has three more years of contract. But I wish [for him to get a new contract]. He deserves one. The club knows that and sooner or later, without any pressure, they will arrive into a decision.”
The news comes amid Son's excellent start to the season, the South Korean has already scored 10 and assisted four with Harry Kane providing him with seven assists.
As Mourinho mentions, the 28-year-old is under contract until 2023, leaving Spurs in no rush to tie up a deal, particularly with Son appearing very happy currently, but a new deal would be a huge boost for the club given the forward's form.
