Son Heung-min debate slammed as former Tottenham star makes bold Neymar claim

Is Son Heung-Min world-class?

That was the debate raging on talkSPORT this morning as Jamie O'Hara, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, and presenter Andy Goldstein argued it out.

Son has started the 2020-21 campaign in expert form, scoring ten goals in 13 appearances.

And the South Korean has now been named the Premier League's player of the month for October, beating off his teammate and partner Harry Kane to the prize.

So is he world-class?

Few players in world football earn the right to be called world-class with many having to lift the biggest trophies to land such a claim.

But O'Hara is adamant that he is, telling talkSPORT that he feels the 28-year-old is better than Neymar and is on a par with Bayern Munich superstar Serge Gnabry.

"Absolutely, yes," said Jamie O'Hara.

"I don't even know how this is a debate and listening to some of the people saying that he is now world-class is winding me up.

"He's got everything. He's got pace and power. He can score goals and he can bring other players into the game.

"He is playing in the best league in the world. He has scored eight goals in [his last] eight games, with two assists.

"And he has been doing it for a number of seasons now.

"It is not like he has just turned up and has had a few good games, he has consistently been one of the best players in the Premier League every season."

When asked if Son is better at this moment in time than Neymar, O'Hara said: "At this moment in time, yes.

"If he was playing for Bayern Munich I think he would be doing [well]."
