A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his pensioner father after his body was discovered within a flat in Falkirk.
Christopher Gray is accused on petition of the murder of 73-year-old Alexander Alastair Gray, who was known as Alastair.
Christopher, 49, made no plea at the brief private hearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.
Gray, of Falkirk, is also charged with resisting police.
Sheriff Keith O'Mahony committed him for further examination and remanded him in custody.
He will appear in court again in eight days' time.
Emergency services were called to the property on Grahams Road in the town at around 10:45am yesterday morning following reports of concern for a person.

Alastair was found with "fatal injuries".
A large police presence remains at the flat today, and detectives have been seen knocking on doors as they try to find out exactly what happened.
Detective Inspector Robert Andrews, from Falkirk CID said: "Our thoughts are with Alastair's family and friends at this time and we have specialist officers supporting them. They have asked that their privacy be respected as they come to terms with what's happened.
"We are satisfied that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death."
