
Two super-sized koinobori carp streamers are aired out on the ground in a park in Kazo, Saitama Prefecture, on Wednesday. The colorful 100-meter-long streamers weigh 330 kilograms each and are put up along the river in the city every May -- the exception being last year and this year when the pandemic canceled the activity. About 40 local junior chamber members took part on this day as participants spread the streamers on the grass to air them out in the autumn breeze, check for tears and make sure mold has not set in.
