Someone walked down a Swansea street kicking the wing mirrors off cars

Wing mirrors on multiple cars in a Swansea street were damaged in a night of vandalism.

The cars were targeted during the early hours of Thursday, October 31, in Neath Road, Plasmarl .

Sean Elward, who has only been living on the street since February, captured CCTV footage of his car being kicked outside his home.

Mr Elward said: "The car mirror was kicked backwards.

"The mirror wasn't damaged but it could have been a lot worse. There were a few cars reported damaged that night.

"It's the first time anything has happened to my car, however, there has been an issue in the past from chatting to neighbours.

"It's the audacity that someone could do something so petty that could be costly to someone's property."

Here's the CCTV footage:

One woman, who did not want to be named, said that when she went to use her car she noticed that the wing mirror was "hanging off".

She said: "We noticed my wing mirror was hanging off and had completely snapped and was just hanging on by a cable.

"Then we noticed that my mother-in-law's car was also hit but not to the extent that there was damage like mine.

"It will cost £300 for a new wing mirror, let alone the price to have it fitted.

"My car is an 18 plate which I have bought myself this year in April. I work hard for what I earn so it's pretty devastating to see this happen.

"I believe more than five other wing mirrors were broken completely like mine."

Jackie Sykes also had her car damaged during the early hours of Halloween.

"My wing mirror wasn't smashed off but it was bent in and up in the air," she said.

"It happened at around 3.40am last Thursday and there were three cars parked together. One wing mirror was completely kicked off and the middle car was the same as mine.

"We were parked adjacent to the blue bridge just off Neath Road and it looks like he's then gone down the road kicking more wing mirrors off."

South Wales Police has released images of a man that they would like to speak to "in connection with a number of vehicles being damaged in Neath Road".
