Every professional athlete with an Instagram account has likely come across some interesting proposals or exchanges in their direct messages (Looking at you, J.R. Smith). But Bryce Harper’s wife, Kayla, has a story to top them all.
Shortly after Harper signed his 13-year, $330 million contract with the Phillies, he and his wife announced that they were expecting their first child. The couple relocated to Philadelphia, and the Phillies have been at home since April 25.
When Kayla checked her direct messages this week, she came across something that she just had to share: Someone wanted to message Bryce but instead slid into her DMs — the wife of Bryce Harper.
Kayla posted the message to her Instagram Story with her own commentary.
Kayla wrote:
If you’re going to try & go after a married man the least you could do is be smart enough to message his Instagram account and not his wife’s.
She added:
@BryceHarper3 are you feeling stressed? I have your solution.
Kayla did have a point — maybe don’t slide into the DMs of an athlete’s wife instead of the athlete.
That’s not going to end well.
