Someone jumped all over a man's Mercedes, causing thousands of pounds of damage

A barber who saved up all his money to buy his dream car was left devastated to find it had been trampled on, causing £4,000 worth of damage.

Akif Nacar, who runs the B27 Turkish barbers in Blue Street, Carmarthen, bought a brand new Mercedes worth £33,000 four weeks ago.

Living in a flat with limited parking, he decided to keep his pride and joy at St Catherine's Walk car park in Carmarthen, paying £50 a month in fees, whilst using his other car to get him to and from work.

But when he went to get his Mercedes, which he uses for leisure, he was left "heartbroken" to discover it had been damaged.

Footprints were found on the bonnet, leading onto the roof, where there were eight different marks which had left dents.

He has been told it will cost an estimated £4,000 to repair.

Mr Nacar's brother, Senol Nacar, said: "Akif is heartbroken, devastated. He has only had his licence for a year and a half and the premium is going to be sky high now.

"He was saving a year and a half for a deposit.

"Why do you have to be punished for someone else's decision to go and damage something that isn't theirs?"

Senol Nacar added that the second floor of the car park, where the car was positioned, did not have CCTV, something his brother was not aware of when he left it there.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident of criminal damage to a motor vehicle which was parked unattended in a car park in Carmarthen.

"The damage has occurred whilst the vehicle was parked unattended on the second floor in the multi-storey car park in Carmarthen between 2pm and 2.45pm on July 11.

"Unknown persons have jumped on the bonnet and run over the roof of the black Mercedes vehicle, causing approximately £4,000 of damage in total.

"Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact PC 1003 Clark at headquarters Carmarthen , tel 101, ext 23600, quoting DPP/0101/11/07/2019/01/C."
