Someone Is Dragging An Anti-Lockdown Banner Across The Not-Locked-Down Skies Of Brisbane RN

Someone is reportedly dragging an anti-lockdown banner across the not-locked-down skies of Brisbane today, and make it make sense.

There have been a number of anti-lockdown protests this Saturday across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. The latter of which, you might remember, is not in lockdown and even recorded zero (0) cases today.

But, that hasn’t stopped a few people in the Queensland metropolitan city from joining in on the anti-lockdown protests. When we mean few, we mean a few.

In footage taken by Nine, what appears to be a few hundred people at most are seen gathering at a park with signs, while a plane in the sky drags the words: “LOCKDOWN INSANITY = CHILD ABUSE” across the Brisbane CBD.

It’s unclear who is exactly behind the plane however the ABC previously reported that a man in quarantine had arranged a plane banner to protest against Queensland Premier Anastasia Palaszczuk’s border stance back in September last year.

The man reportedly claimed he’d pay $1,800 a week to fly political messages across the Brisbane sky in the lead-up to last year’s state election, which Palaszczuk won. The September 2020 banner, which read “She is heartless”, flew from Coolangatta to Brisbane.

Another person, a landscaper, paid the same plane company to fly the words “vote her out”. It’s unclear whether the same plane company is involved here or if others were merely inspired by the previous event.

Not gonna lie, I don’t know exactly why people in Brisbane are doing this. Maybe they saw all the mass protests across the two other big cities and felt like they were missing out? Idk, we’ll know more once Queensland Police make a statement.

Today’s minimal Brisbane protest joins what appears to be thousands of people protesting the streets of Melbourne.

All adult Aussies (yep, even if those of us under 40) are currently able to get the safe and effective AstraZeneca vaccine through a GP. Click here to see which clinics are offering it, and talk to a doctor to see if it’s right for you.

Alternatively, you can triple-check to see if you’re eligible for the Pfizer vaccine here.

The best vaccine is the first one you can get, and that’ll be our ticket out of this mess.
