Someone in Bury is a millionaire and doesn't know it as £1m EuroMillions prize remains unclaimed

Someone in Bury is sitting on a lottery ticket worth a huge £1m and doesn't even know it.

The National Lottery is on the hunt for the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker winner who is sitting on the ticket.

EuroMillions Millionaire Maker guarantees to create a millionaire in every draw but the lucky winner from the draw on 25 June is yet to check their ticket and claim their prize.

Lottery bosses say the winning ticket was bought somewhere in the borough of Bury - and are urging anyone who thinks that might mean them to check and double check their unique EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker code for the chance to become an instant millionaire.

The winning code on June 25, 2021, was JTHK 40424 and the lucky ticket-holder has until December 22, 2021, to claim their prize1.

Anyone not in possession of their ticket, for whatever reason, but who believes they have a genuine claim can still make a claim in writing to Camelot, but it must be within 30 days of the draw.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings, this amazing prize could really make a massive difference to somebody’s life. We’re urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding."

People can check their tickets online at national-lottery.co.uk or by downloading the National Lottery app, and to buy or check their tickets in retail in line with government guidance.

“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win," Mr Carter said.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

Thanks to National Lottery players, over £1.2BN is being used by charities and organisations affected by the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, which includes over £600M in funding support from the National Lottery Community Fund which is being used to help groups best placed to support people and communities through the crisis.
