Someone got a Knicks-themed Zion Williamson tattoo right before the lottery

I don’t know how many times we need to say this, but preemptive sports tattoos are the worst ideas. THE WORST.

Knicks fans were extremely confident about Tuesday’s NBA Draft lottery. They wanted Zion Williamson. It almost seemed inevitable — well, at least to the most delusional of Knicks fans.

One Knicks fan was so certain that the Knicks would strike big in the lottery that she couldn’t wait another hour to get Williamson’s name tattooed on her ankle over a Knicks logo.

That puzzling decision made for the quickest backfiring of a sports-themed tattoo that we have ever seen. Like, why?

Now we know why the Knicks didn’t get Zion Williamson — it had to be the tattoo.

But on the bright side for this Knicks fan, I think that tattoo can be fixed.

If the Knicks end up taking R.J. Barrett with the No. 3 pick next month, I’d like to officially recommend this as the cover-up tattoo.

There you go. Crisis averted.
