Someone from Warrington is so annoyed at noise from Liverpool airport that they complained about it 842 times in a single day.
It means the person would have had to complain more than once every two minutes - if they didn't take time to sleep.
The stunning number came to light in a recent report from John Lennon Airport (JLA) - and revealed the same person had made just shy of 11,000 complaints in six months.
The volume of complaints the airport is receiving from the individual is so large the airport now separates the complaints from everyone else's.
The 842 complaints were recorded on October 6 last year, but multiple others days throughout the second half of last year saw a number in excess of 300 complaints in 24 hours.
The airport's noise consultative committee recently backed a decision by JLA to stop dealing with the person's complaints in the same way as others - and has stopped responding to them.
A report to the committee said the complaints were "disproportionate" to the problem and that a lot of the complaints were not actually related to noise at the airport.
The report says: "Members noted the volume of complaints from the one individual.
"The number of complaints reflected the individual’s feeling about the matter but seemed disproportionate from the Airport and Noise Monitoring Sub-Committee (NMSC) perspective."
The airport continues to record and report the numbers of complaints from the person but does not investigate them.
The report also says attempts by airport staff to get in touch with "the unidentified Warrington individual" have so far failed.
An Airport spokesman said: ”The individual concerned who lives approximately 10 miles from the Airport in Warrington, has made in excess of 800 complaints in a single day, at times when there are in fact less than 200 aircraft movements either to or from Liverpool.
”Many of these complaints relate to aircraft not even operating via here and whilst staff from the Airport’s Environment department have visited this individual to discuss these complaints, this individual has chosen not to engage with airport colleagues.”
Overall, between the beginning of July and the end of September the airport received 10,943 noise complaints.
Of those, 10,906 are from the same 'Warrington individual'.
