Someone fly-tipped a boat in the middle of the road

Drivers in rural west Wales had a bit of a shock when they found their path blocked by another vehicle — a boat.

The vessel, which was around eight to ten feet long, had been cut in two and dumped on a country road in Pembrokeshire overnight on Tuesday.

It was reported to police on Wednesday morning and officers soon arrived at the scene as it was totally blocking a single track road near the village of Thornton, two miles north of Milford Haven.

Removal of the boat was arranged by Pembrokeshire Council on Wednesday, who took it away to a local council depot, and the road was clear by 9am on Wednesday.

The boat had been cut into two pieces (Pembrokeshire Road Policing Unit)

Police are now appealing for information over what they call an act of “horrendous fly tipping”.

They are urging anyone who may know who is responsible to contact them by calling 101.
