Nissan car vending machine at the M8 Cowcaddens: We answer 'Glasgow's most important question'

Having pride of place alongside the M8, the eight storey-high glass tower of cars at Macklin Motors Nissan can be seen towering over Cowcaddens.

Boasting up to 30 vehicles at any time, Glasgow's 'car vending machine' has for a few years left passing drivers and those stuck in traffic on the motorway confused as to just how it actually works and wondering if the cars actually leave the tower at all.

One person has even gone to regard it as 'the most important question in Glasgow'.

They tweeted: "Someone’s finally asked the most important question about Glasgow" after seeing someone else tweet: "How the f**** do they get the cars out of here".

Well, the good news is we have the answer for you...

A video released by the company reveals how it all works - and the answer is, well it's just like a giant car vending machine.

Although we’re guessing this one doesn’t take all your shrapnel!

Robert Auld, general manager of Macklin Motors Nissan Glasgow Central, said: “The tower is a fantastic asset of the dealership.

“When customers come to pick up their car, they love to see it coming down the tower. Picking up a new vehicle is always exciting and the tower adds a little bit more magic to it.”

So there you have it, Glasgow's most important question - answered!
