'Somebody is going to get killed' Lorraine Kelly fumes over Extinction Rebellion tube chaos

Lorraine Kelly fumed over the latest Extinction Rebellion protests during an on-air rant earlier on Good Morning Britain.

Sharing her views with hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, she raged over the protesters' latest actions in London saying how she fears "somebody is going to get killed."

It comes after XR activists took to the London underground during rush-hour this morning, where they prevented many people from getting to work - causing outrage among London commuters.

Activists were seen protesting on top of tube trains as part of the group's 'planned disruption' before being physically dragged off by train passengers.

While the ITV show was reporting on the news, Susanna and Ben cut to Lorraine who appeared visibly angered by the severe chaos on the Jubilee line and DLR.

Describing the mayhem as 'toxic and divisive', the 59-year-old Scottish presenter told viewers how she no longer recognises her country.

Responding to the GMB anchors on the situation, she said: "This is horrendous, isn't it? I don't recognise my country, what's going on? Absolutely horrible.

"People are just trying to get to their work for goodness sake. Standing on the train, which is electric anyway, I just don't understand - it just doesn't make any sense to me.

Extinction Rebellion protests disrupt London Underground

"I think all of us have got sympathy for what they're trying to do, and then it's the the way they're going about it."

So far, British Transport Police has confirmed eight arrests have been made, with four in connection to the Stratford and Canning Town incidents.

Another four have also been made in connection to disruption at Shadwell.

Lorraine shared how she fears the worst may happen due to the protesters 'horrendous' actions.

"It's just so toxic and divisive." She said, "Somebody's going to get killed."

She ended her rant by saying: "It's just nuts, absolutely nuts."
