These pictures show the stark task firefighters had in extinguishing a fire involving around 50 hay bales.
Emergency workers from Tuxford Fire Station were called to the blaze in the open at 10.49pm on Tuesday, March 31.
"Crews last night were mobilised to a fire in the open in their local area, control had received numerous calls about this and on arrival we understood why," a statement on the fire station's Facebook page read.
"There was approximately 50 bales well-alight, crews used a hose reel and beaters to stop the fire spreading and keep it under control.
"Crews left around 3am and returned this morning to inspect it.
"Some tired people this morning but the appliance is available and ready whenever you need us."
