'Some served patients, others served prosecco' - Huge billboard mocking Boris Johnson appears in Leigh

A massive double-billboard mocking Boris Johnson has appeared on a main road in Leigh.

One side of the billboard, in Atherleigh Way, shows a nurse looking after a patient in hospital, while the other is a photo of the Prime Minister in Downing Street with an open bottle of Prosecco.

It has been paid for by protest group Led By Donkeys.

In a tweet, @ByDonkeys shared the video and wrote: "Some served patients. Others served Prosecco."

The photo of Mr Johnson emerged earlier this month and was from a Christmas quiz on December 15, 2020.

At the time London was under Tier 2 regulations banning any social mixing between two or more people from different households.

Official guidance also stated: “You must not have a work Christmas lunch or party, where that is a primarily social activity and is not otherwise permitted by the rules in your tier.”

But the Christmas quiz is not one of the dozen No 10 gatherings under investigation by police.

Led By Donkeys funds their billboard campaign through a crowdfunder.

Manchester Evening News has contacted Boris Johnson's office for comment.
