Some of the city’s top brewers heading for new Didsbury beer festival

Many of the city’s most celebrated craft breweries will be heading to Didsbury for a new beer festival next month. The Northern Brews Beer Festival will take place from June 24 to June 26 and will feature a host of brewery pop ups, food stalls, live music and DJs.

One of the city’s hottest new beer makers Sureshot Brewing will be in attendance, and will be joined by Squawk, plus many more from further afield, including Tartatus from West Yorkshire. While Lakes Brew Co from Kendal and Vault City from Edinburgh will not be in attendance on the day, their beers will be on offer throughout the festival.

It all happens on the Didsbury Sports Ground on Ford Lane, with tickets split up into four sessions over the weekend, and ranging from a single session at £7.50, or the full weekend pass at £25. Food stalls will include wood fired pizzas, burgers and Greek specialties.

The festival’s organisers Dan Bromley and Andrea D’Avanzo said: “We are very excited to be hosting our inaugural beer festival in Didsbury this June. This will be a brilliant weekend of fun, outstanding beer and good times for all.

“We will be showcasing the very best of Northern breweries, with many breweries in attendance pouring their crafted brews to our beer loving festival goers. We are passionate about the beer scene up here in the North and know that those attending are in for a real treat.

“Along with the wide range of breweries represented there will be a diverse range of beer styles on show, from lagers to pale ales, IPAs to DIPAs and sours to stouts.”

It joins a number of beer festivals hitting the city in the coming months. The Manchester Craft Beer Festival lands at Mayfield Depot on 22 and 23 of July, while the Summer Beer Thing event has just been confirmed at Kampus for the same weekend as Northern Brews, from June 24 for 26.

The Indy Man Beer Con is also back at the Victoria Baths from September 29 to October 2, with some tickets still available.
