Some Manchester Piccadilly trains will be disrupted tomorrow

Some trains at Manchester Piccadilly will be disrupted tomorrow due to a signalling fault.

The fault at Cheadle Hulme caused long delays on trains between Manchester and London today (Thursday).

It also led to delays on trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Birmingham, Piccadilly and Stoke-on-Trent, Alderley Edge and Wigan and Manchester and Cardiff.

Transport bosses have now said that delays will continue into tomorrow (Friday).

In a tweet, TfGM said an emergency timetable will be put in place between Manchester and Crewe.

"Services have been reduced and replacement buses will be provided as required", the tweet added.

"Allow extra time and be sure to check National Rail before setting off."

The operators affected by the signalling fault are Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, Northern and Transpennine Express.
