Some Man United fans send transfer message to Mesut Ozil after his latest Arsenal matchday snub

He may not be playing at the moment, but Mesut Ozil is never far from the headlines when it comes to Arsenal.

The 31-year-old was once again left out of the matchday squad for the game against Crystal Palace this afternoon (Sunday), with Ozil seen on camera cutting a frustrated figure in the stands as the Gunners threw away a two-goal lead against the Eagles.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery gave nothing away when he spoke about Ozil's future earlier this week, but it is understood that the Gunners board are behind the manager in his decision.

Ozil’s last competitive appearance for the north London club came on September 24 in their 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup - while he has been restricted to just one Premier League outing in 2019-20, that coming in a 2-2 draw against Watford at Vicarage Road.

The ongoing saga has led to plenty of comments from fans and pundits alike, with former Arsenal striker Ian Wright making his feelings clear over who he would rather see last longer at the club when it comes to Emery or Ozil, who has stated himself that he intends to stay at the club.

“Well hopefully Ozil,” Wright said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“He’s already said he doesn’t want to leave. For me, hopefully it’s Ozil.”

But with Ozil still left out of the squad for the game against Palace this afternoon, questions continue over his future, with Ozil having been linked with Manchester United.

Earlier this week, Manchester United legend Paul Scholes said he felt his old club should be asking about Ozil's availability in January, if he continues to be left out of the Arsenal squad.

And now, the former German international is also being urged to join Manchester United by some fans of the Red Devils.
