Some Man United fans say the same thing as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is on the bench for England's U21s

Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka's absence from the starting line-up for England's U21 side this evening has sparked a reaction from Manchester United fans.

Wan-Bissaka has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, with the protracted move turning into one of the transfer sagas of the summer in recent days.

United have reportedly had two bids rejected for the 21-year-old, but Palace are standing firm over a player who has excelled at the club since making his senior professional debut in February 2018, establishing himself as the Eagles' first choice right-back.

But he struggled in the Young Lions' opening game of the European U21 Championship on Tuesday, with Wan-Bissaka scoring an own goal in injury time as England lost out 2-1 against France.

And now, he has been named on the bench for England's game against Romania this evening (Friday), with Aidy Boothroyd's side needing to win to keep alive their hopes of progression in the tournament.

Ahead of the game, Boothroyd admitted that he felt the speculation over Wan-Bissaka's future had had an impact on him amid his performance against France, while he also said that he would not block any move, should the player need time to complete a transfer amid links to Manchester United.

"When that speculation is flying around, it is bound to turn your head," he said.

"For a young player who all he knows is Crystal Palace academy, Crystal Palace first team, it would be daft not to say that in some way he must think about it. I would be not truthful if I told you anything other than that.

"I think when you are nearly going to move and all the things that would go through an older person's head, who is more experienced in life, it would be difficult for them to cope with.

"What I will say is because he doesn't say too much you don't get to find out too much. Aaron keeps things to himself. He is a very private guy. But having said all of that had he not scored the own goal we probably would not be having this conversation."

But with Wan-Bissaka now being named on the bench for the Young Lions' second game of the tournament, some Manchester United fans have been saying the same thing on social media about what his absence from the starting line-up means, as can be seen below.
