Some Liverpool fans make plea to Gareth Southgate about Harry Winks and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

England boss Gareth Southgate has plenty of options when it comes to his midfield for the European Championships next summer.

While the Three Lions boss has some players who, if fit, are almost certainly going to start for England next summer in other positions, the midfield is not an area where fans can easily call who will play.

Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks and Chelsea's Mason Mount, in particular, gave Southgate food for thought with their first goals for England against Kosovo, with both players getting on the scoresheet in the 4-0 win in Pristina.

Winks opened the scoring in the first half, before Harry Kane and substitutes Marcus Rashford and Mount netted late on in the game.

After the game, Southgate was full of praise for Winks , with the Tottenham midfielder playing in a more advanced role for the Three Lions in the win.

Spurs fans were also pleased to see the 23-year-old get on the scoresheet, while Winks also earned praise from rival fans as well.

And some Liverpool fans said the same thing about Winks and Reds midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who provided the assist for the Spurs man's goal in the first half.

Here's what some Reds fans were saying in a message for Southgate via social media.
