Some Dudes Turned a Side-By-Side in a Go-Fast Lawnmower, Just Like Monster Garage

Recall the mid-aughts. It was a time of insanity, as while cable TV had always been a bit out there, we were not prepared for the onslaught of what was to come from those channels. As the History Channel migrated away from your parents' World War II history documentaries, a domino that would likely doom the US two decades later, to alien conspiracy theories, so too did every other channel swing to reality TV.

One of the biggest proponents of that trend was the Discovery Channel, which I later worked for for about a half second after it came in, bought Motor Trend and all its titles, and then laid everyone off. That, however, is neither here nor there, as one of the programs that Discovery put forward was the Jesse James-headed Monster Garage, which captured the imaginations of many a would-be builder.

And on one particular episode of the show where a new team would create something weird and wonderful out of a derelict car, the team aimed to create the world's fastest lawnmower out of a Fox Body Ford Mustang. While they did it, that concept is one that hasn't gone away, with Honda looking for the crown a few years back. That mower, however, didn't have blades and didn't cut grass. This build by the CBoys, though, it can cut grass.

But I'm not sure I'd want to stand anywhere near it.

The starting point for the lawnmower side-by-side, not to be confused with Polaris' dope lawnmower attachment it's building, is a CFMoto ZForce. And the reason this all started was the owner of said CFMoto broke the CBoys' own John Deere lawnmower and then peaced out back to Canada without fixing anything. He also left the CFMoto in their shop.

I mean, what else are you going to do?

The idea is that the CBoys are going to "make things right" by getting the side-by-side out of the shop, squaring the beef with their friend who broke the lawnmower, and basically recreating one of the best episodes of Monster Garage by coupling the CFMoto with the John Deere's mower deck. "We're going to combine the two problems into one," said one of the hosts. They're also very proud of the name they gave the whole thing, i.e. it'll be forever known as the CFMowto...

Yeah, what could go wrong? Check out the full video above, and see how they even painted the machine to match their broken John Deere, wheels, deck, and all.
