Callum Hudson-Odoi has sent a message to the Chelsea fans after returning to Stamford Bridge as part of an open training session today (Wednesday).
The 18-year-old has not yet featured for the Blues this season as he continues to recover from an Achilles injury sustained towards the end of last season, but is closing in on a comeback after featuring in training this week.
He continued that process by taking part in an open training session in west London this morning (Wednesday), with Hudson-Odoi sending a message to supporters after the training via the club's official Twitter account.
“It’s great to be back in training, it’s another step in my recovery," he said.
“Can’t wait to be back at the Bridge playing again, see you soon.”
And that has gone down well with Chelsea fans, who are looking forward to his return to action, after he scored five times in 24 appearances last season in all competitions for the Blues.
But some supporters have had the same response to his message, with no confirmation as yet over a new contract for the teenager.
It has been widely reported that Hudson-Odoi, who has been a transfer target for Bayern Munich, is set to sign a new five-year deal with the Blues, although Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has recently said there was no update on talks over his contract.
Nevertheless, it is clear that is what a lot of fans want, as can be seen from the reaction to his video message today.
