Some Chelsea fans are saying the same thing about Nathan Ake amid Ben Chilwell transfer stance

Chelsea have been dealt a huge transfer blow ahead of the January window, with Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers categorically ruling out any stars leaving the Foxes next month.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the Leicester full-back, who has impressed for the Foxes this season as Rodgers' men have emerged as the closest challengers to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

But while Rodgers admitted that speculation is inevitable in a team performing so well, he delivered a firm message to any team hoping to prise away their top players.

"If you're doing well, there will always be speculation," Rodgers told reporters.

January transfer window: everything you need to know

"The boys understand that. [James] Maddison has started the season very well, he's been very productive. He's a bright young player and he's got a bright future.

"There'll be no-one leaving in January. Categorically.

"I'm sure if we speak [to the hierarchy] they will have the same message.

"I speak regularly with Jon [Rudkin, director of football] and Top [Khun Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, chairman]. It's very clear we want to keep this squad together. We want to ensure they stay around beyond January."

Chelsea fans have been responding to what Rodgers has said, with some Blues supporters turning their attention elsewhere, amid links with another Premier League defender in Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.

Here's what some Chelsea fans have been saying on social media.

Ake started his senior career at Chelsea, before making a permanent move to join the Cherries in 2017.

He has since impressed for Eddie Howe's men in the Premier League in the centre of the Cherries' defence, although he can also play at left-back.

And it has been reported recently that Chelsea are one of a number of clubs considering a move for the Dutchman, with the Blues pondering activating a £40million buy-back clause in Ake's contract.
