Some Arsenal fans are saying the same thing about Mohamed Elneny as Mo Salah shines for Egypt

He may not always be first choice at Arsenal, but Mohamed Elneny is a regular for his country.

And the 26-year-old was in action once again this evening (Sunday) as hosts Egypt faced Uganda in their final African Cup of Nations Group A game.

Having beaten DR Congo and Zimbabwe, Egypt had already secured their place in the knockout stages of the tournament, but they look to be on course for a 100 per cent record in the group stage, with goals from Liverpool's Mo Salah and Aston Villa's Ahmed Elmohamody giving them a 2-0 advantage.

But while two other English-based players have got themselves on the scoresheet, it is the performance of Arsenal's Egyptian midfielder that has got some Gunners fans talking on social media tonight.

Elneny, who only featured 17 times for the Gunners in Unai Emery's first season in charge, started the game in Cairo, and played his part in Elmohamady's goal, while he also linked up with Salah on occasion during the game.

And although Elneny was substituted shortly after the hour mark, he did enough in his display to get some Arsenal fans saying the same thing about him, as can be seen below.
