American and European forces have been targeted in twin attacks in Somalia as explosions rocked an airbase and a military convoy.
The US Military base at Baledogle is under siege after a double-car bombing rocked the airfield.
A second explosion has also been reported to have targeted a European military convoy in the country's capital of Mogadishu, 62 miles south east of the airstrip.
Footage emerging in the aftermath of the incident shows a thick plume of white smoke rising from the site.
Local media reports gunfighting erupted at the Baledogle base following explosions from two car bombs earlier this morning, local time.
Heavy explosions and gunshots can be heard at the base, reports BBC Somalia.

Multiple Somalian reports say Al-Qaeda affiliated extremist Al-Shabaab fighters carried out the attack on the airstrip in the lower Shabelle region around 11am local-time, citing pro-militia media.
Local reports say the explosions at Baledogle could be heard from cities miles from the airfield.
They are reporting a large plume of smoke at the airfield, where American troops are based.
